The recommended platforms to run CMSIM at CERN are the following:
cms (CMS Group Server, Sun cluster)
shiftcms (CMS dedicated HP farm)
Supported platforms are also cernsp (CERN IBM/SP-2, AIX), hpplus, csf
(HP-UX) and dxplus (Digital Unix). All these platforms are in the
file system and hence they use common directories and files.
The reference machine is the CMS group server.
CMS members registered at CERN (via CUO, CERN Users' Office) obtain CMS accounts (group code zh) on the CERN machines as `General User'. The CMS members not registered at CERN can obtain accounts as `Outside User'.
