Most CMSIM work will be done in batch mode-- the executable is smaller, it requires less memory, and run faster. To compile an executable suitable for batch jobs, follow the instructions on the install or update page.
cms112b.run is a sample script that generates 1000 events and makes histograms and ntuples. It writes out the title file and then executes the batch version of CMSIM.
