In the CDF experiment at Fermilab, protons and antiprotons collide with center-of-mass energy 1.8 TeV.  The CDF experiment has taken data with ever- increasing flux since 1985. This experiment found the long sought-after top quark which has a mass of  about 175 GeV. The CDF detector is being heavily upgraded for high luminosity operation starting in 2001.

In the CMS experiment being prepared for future use at the LHC (Large Hadron Collider) at CERN, protons will collide with protons at center-of-mass energy 14 TeV. A rich physics program includes the likely discovery of the Higgs particle, and a good shot at the discovery of Supersymmetry.
